Diane Boehr, presented “PubMed Central — Publishing Trends of Journals Containing Articles by NIH-Funded Authors that are not Selected for the NLM Collection.” Robert Heaton presented “Factors in Staff Satisfaction with E-Resource Troubleshooting Tools.”

Ben Abrahamse organized the forum and delivered an update prepared by Regina Reynolds in her absence. The remainder of the meeting was given over to Steven Riel who gave a presentation entitled “Series as Serials: Implications of Two Current Cataloging Instructions.”

Forum speakers presented “real-life examples of current challenges faced by librarians when building and managing collections to meet the goals of the 21st century library.”
Continue readingThe ALCTS Cataloging and Metadata Management Section (CaMMS) Forum took place at the 2018 ALA Midwinter Meeting on Sunday, February 11. The session, titled “Cooperatively Conscientious Cataloging,” provided a venue for attendees to share their ideas and concerns about the process now under way to develop a code of ethics for the cataloging community. Their feedback will be added to that garnered from prior CaMMS events, all of which will help determine the next steps that CaMMS takes toward the goal of developing an ethics guidelines document.

It was a big room for this morning event late in the Midwinter schedule, most of us huddled against the cold, tired after a busy weekend, coffee in hand.
