On June 25, 2017, the LLAMA Technology Community of Practice sponsored the ALA Program, “ILS Migration Stories: Naked Data and Change Management.” This panel presentation was delivered by Elizabeth Novicki, Leland Deeds, Julene Jones, and John Sterbenz, Jr. Each panelist described the size of their library or libraries’ collections, the academic programs their libraries support, and the number of library employees at their respective institutions.

Audiovisual Materials & Issues with Degradation & Storage: 2017 Annual Conference

This session was directed toward library or museum staff members tasked with responsibilities for audiovisual collections. It provided basic and intermediate level information about these materials and their challenges, and addressed concerns about care and handling. An overarching theme was the relationship of the physical make-up of these materials to the appropriate preservation response to their damage.

How to Be an Influential Librarian — Leading & Mentoring from Wherever You Are: 2017 Annual Conference

More than 100 attendees listened to three speakers at this program share their own experiences and offer advice to librarians who want to be influential leaders. The program was held on Sunday, June 24, and co-sponsored by the Library Leadership & Management Association (LLAMA) Mentoring Committee and the ALA New Members Round Table (NMRT). Each of three speakers represented a different point in her career (early, mid, and late career) which provided a varied perspective on and experiences in leading and mentoring.
