After a cool and wet spring, it’s hard to believe that summer is arriving, but yet here we are just a week and half away from the ALA Annual Conference, starting on June 20. Washington, DC always offers unparalleled opportunities to explore our government institutions and national treasures, often for no cost at all. Assessing Collections for Diversity & Inclusion: e-Forum Summary

The ALCTS e-Forum “Assessing Collections for Diversity and Inclusion” was held April 16–17, 2019. This session was sponsored by the ALCTS Aquisition Section Committee on Research & Statistics. Committee members Katherine Brown (Auraria Library), Keri Perlitz (ProQuest), Jeff Eller (Wake Forest University), and Katy DiVittorio (Auraria Library) moderated. Discussion topics focused on how libraries are working to diversify their collections.

2018 ALA-ASGCLA National E-book Summit

On June 22, 2018, the American Library Association (ALA) and the Association for Specialized, Government and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASGCLA) co-sponsored the National E-book Summit at the 2018 ALA Annual Conference. The Summit was meant to continue the work of the ALA Working Group on Libraries and Digital Content to further the conversation between librarians, consortia, publishers, distributors and other thought leaders around e-books and libraries and to begin to create a national agenda around ebooks in libraries.
