ALCTS Seeking Cataloging & Metadata Management Awards Nominations for 2019

Nominations are being accepted for the 2019 Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) awards for outstanding achievement and promise in the field of cataloging, classification, and metadata management. The awards are presented by the Cataloging and Metadata Management Section of ALCTS. One award honors an individual who shows promise in the field of metadata, while the other recognizes an individual whose work represents the finest achievements in research, collaboration, creative work, leadership and service.

ANMIG Seeks Volunteers for 2018–2019

The ALCTS New Members Interest Group (ANMIG) is seeking volunteers to serve for 2018–2019. ANMIG has focused on the interest of new ALCTS members and information professionals since 2009. The group is charged with developing interest group meetings at ALA conferences, helping new members of ALCTS assimilate to the division, plan virtual events and share pertinent information to the larger library community. Currently, the positions of co-vice chair, student liaison, social media coordinator, and member-at-large. 2018 ALA Election Information

The ALA elections will open on March 12, 2018, and will close on April 4, 2018. ALA members will vote on a dues increase, as well as a resolution determining whether the Association’s executive director should be required to hold an ALA- or CAEP-accredited master’s degree. Candidates for ALCTS office, as well as ALCTS members who are candidates for ALA Council, are detailed below.
