    While it is good that there are efforts to maintain the involvement for language expertise in ongoing romanization for languages along the spectrum of usage and associated cataloging needs, I am curious where in this discussion is this, what seems to be pushback, from LC for maintaining romanization tables as the move to Linked_Data continues. The PCC participants meeting at ALA MW clearly revealed that romanization is necessary, not just for cataloging, but for anchoring results across a diversity of systems that use these languages. And since presenting these results to users is a huge part of why we produce metadata, what is the relationship of this proposal to, again, what seems to be, LC’s questioning of romanization for the long term?
